Indiana-based White Lodging seems to be planning its next hotel project in South End Charlotte.
The Midwestern hospitality developer purchased 0.63 acres at 1320 and 1328 S. Tryon St. from a Charlotte-based limited liability company called Silver Lining, according to Mecklenburg County real estate records. The $8 million sale closed on Dec. 1, 2025.
Located between Charlotte Beer Garden and The Rail Yard, the vacant property is expected to become the developer’s second hotel project in Charlotte. Mike Banas, White Lodge senior director of communications, told the
Charlotte Business Journal that the company is not yet ready to share project details.
White Lodging, alongside Crescent Communities, developed the JW Marriott in uptown. The 23-story, luxury hotel opened in the summer of 2021 at 600 S. College St. It has 381 rooms, including 34 suites; more than 22,000 square feet of event space; and a rooftop bar. The JW Marriott is also home to Dean’s Italian Steakhouse and Caroline’s Oyster Bar.
